Post appliance repair
I am desparate to find someone to refurbish my 1950 O & M Model 600 range. It is in excellent condition, just needs some valve cleaning and burner pans rechromed. Prefer Northern Calif but will deliver to anywhere in state.

www.antiqueappliances.com

These guys are in north Georgia, an hour or so outside Atlanta. Even if it's too far to ship, it's an interesting website!

Post O and M shop locations and question for everyone
I was searching on google and could swear I found a couple of sources for repair and purchase of O and M stoves in California. One was in Culver City, the other in Berkeley. Can't think of their names, but if you do the internet search on Google, you'll find them too.

By the way, has anyone out there bought a restored or refurbished O'keefe and Merritt stove? My mother owned a bungalow with one (unrestored and unrefurbished) in it which I was foolish enough not to take with me when I moved out of the bungalow. I didn't know what I had then. I just knew I liked that old gas stove. I was moving into a rental with the appliances already there. Now I have a bungalow with an electric gas stove from the early 60's that I don't love as much--though the oven is great. I would love to include one in a future kitchen rehab. Just don't know the price or experience others have had.

Kurt

We found an late 1940s Wedgewood for $750 at an antique store. Guaranteed operational. 2 week return policy. Valves didn't work so we asked for store credit for the difference. We don't have it up-and-running yet. But if it's in good condition, it shouldn't be that expensive to refurbish. Re-croming and such probably costs a bit.

Diane,

Please report back on them. They are not out of range for us, particularly when we are headed north anyway.

Amanda
I've used these guys for my 1930's Gaffers & Sattler. I would recommend them.

There is someone closer to you, in South Gate, who may be able to help if you're interested. I can try to find the info again.
