We're going to be painting our entryway/sitting room in Sherwin Williams' "Hubbard Squash" color. Everything is taped and primed and ready to go tomorrow.

I did not open the paint container 'til I'd come home from the S-W store and it looks really light, lighter than I thought. I recognize that things oftentimes dry darker than they appear so was wondering what others' experiences were with using this color. Even if it stayed that light we really like it and it will go well in our sitting room we think.

Our living room is Sherwin Williams "Rusking Room Green" and that turned out just perfect... Looked prettier on the wall than the paint swatch!

Does anyone have photos up on the web that show Hubbard Squash being used by any chance?

Our bedroom is painted in Hubbard Squash. I absolutely love it. I don't have any photos online right now but will try to take some later tonight.

I painted the guest bedroom Ruskin Room Green but it may be a bit dark for such a small room. I wish I had chosen a similar Benjamin Moore colour which was just slightly lighter.

Patricia-thanks! If you can ever get photos up I'd love to see it...

It's amazing to me how nice things look when painted. We've been living with white drywall for so long. It was a pain taking down all that 35-year-old wallpaper from our 9-1/2 ft high walls and it took me a bit to get going with all the work of preparing the walls, priming and painting. Now that we're doing it, it's amazing how much better things look.

I painted one of my bedrooms hubbard squash. Of course pictures on line will not correctly reflect true tones due to monitors, etc. This was taken almost at the end of one of my stripping projects

Your window frames and floor molding are the same tones ours are--THANKS! I think this is going to look great... I'm really excited about getting these painting projects done.

By the way, how did you embed the photo in your post?

My husband and I adore Hubbard Squash. We painted our kitchen this color. We are thinking about painting our hallway in Hubbard Squash as well. It is really the perfect color; we are halfway tempted to paint every room in this color!

The Hubbard Squash is not tremendously dark if that's what you're going for. Pics of our bedroom:

Pics of the Ruskin Room green which may be too dark for a small bedroom.

By the way, how did you embed the photo in your post?

It's pretty simple. First you need to have your pictures on-line in a public place. You can use a phote sharing site such as SmugMug, Yahoo photos, etc. or your own website. Second is determine the URL of the photo by going to the location of the photo with your browser, right clicking and then "properties". The properties pop-up with have a location URL with the URL of the photo.

In your post on AmBung, use the image tags. Tags are a command in square brackets [ ] The first bracket (or tag) is [img]then%20your%20URL%20that%20you%20found%20above%20(copy%20and%20paste)%20then%20close%20with%20a%20%20closing%20tag%20with%20a%20slash%20"/"%20(e.g.[/img]).

For Example it would be "[img]"http://www.somewebsite.com/theURLofmypicture.jpg"[/img]". (don't use the "" with the tags, I had to add them so they would show up in this reply). Just embed the URL with the [img] tags in your post where you want your picture to appear.

Hope this makes sense...

Patricia--it looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing.. I should put some of mine up using the same colors.

I finally got the Hubbard Squash up yesterday afternoon and it looks just beautiful alongside our dark woodwork. I am just tickled at how well it turned out. I used almost a full gallon of paint and I think that's because the textured walls prior occupants put up soaks up a lot of the paint (makes me think when we do our dining room in Rembrandt Ruby I'll need at least 3 gallons of paint..)

Dianne-thanks for the advice on how to embed photos.. I'll try and take some pictures of our work and see if I can follow your instructions!!

Ifyou check out the blog on my profile, there should be some pictures with these colors. We painted the dining room and one wall of the living room Hubbard Squash and the other walls of the living room Ruskin Room Green. We really like the combination.
