Post warped kitchen cabinets photos
Don't get me wrong...I love my kitchen. Its original (1921), it is in great shape, but the cabinets have been painted several times and some of doors are warped so that they will not close. I'm sure this is a common problems, so what have you done to remedy this situation... What about having a cabinet-maker craft new doors?

Photos: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/susanloew/my_photos

My cabinet maker looked at mine in the pantry when he was here measuring for cabinets in my kitchen(mine had NONE). He said they were just rubbing at certain spots due to warping and it would be simple to trim those spots so the doors would close. I bet you could do the same. That way you would not need to replace the originals.

A lot will depend on exactly how the door has warped. If it has just swelled ir warped along the width, it would be easy to plane a little bit off if it isn't too bad. If the door has warped so that it's no longer flat, that is more of a problem, though sometimes they can be straightened by taking them off and using weights. If they've racked, that's when they are no longer square. because the glue has loosened, it might be possible to take them apart and reglue them so they are square again. Those are all things you should be able to do yourself.

It should also be possible for a cabinet maker to make new doors. They don't look to complicated. All you need to do is find someone willing to do a small job for not too much money.

I can see that you guys are really concerned about the kitchen cabinets. Well, I too have wooden cabinets in my kitchen but it is not an ancient one. It id designed with modern style. I don't have pictures right now but I will post them here so that you can take decision on migrating your kitchen. Further, I can not see the picture in the posted link. I think its too long that you have posted those pictures. You must have redesigned your kitchen till now. Please give me update if it is done. I am curious to know and see the redesigned structure. :)
