Post Is anyone using a 4-foot clawfoot tub?
At some point during our first five years in our 1920s-era home, my wife and I want to renovate our ugly "Miami Vice" bathroom and give it a 1920s look. Part of this would possibly involve removing the built-in tub and replacing it with a vintage clawfoot tub. However, the space would only allow for a short, 4-foot tub.

Has anyone here ever used a clawfoot tub of this size? Can you stand comfortably in one while showering, or are the bottoms curved to the point where standing is uncomfortable? Are there any other potential issues that may not occur to me when it comes to using a 4-foot tub? This would be our main tub for showering daily.

Thanks in advance!

4 footers are just fine for showering in.

It might not give as much room as the slipper tub my wife dreams of, but for our needs, it's just fine.

I'm also willing to bet that most bungalows originally had tubs that were 4 or 4 1/2 feet long.

I shower and bathe regularly in my 1916 5 foot tub. I think that a 4 foot tub would be fine for showering, but I would prefer a five or six foot tub were I wanting to take a bath in it.

Thanks, guys. To me, I agree that they look fine for showering but may be short for baths. Unfortunately, all we can fit within our space is a 4-foot tub.
