Although not really a bungalow, our 10 1/2 year old house is a Stephen Fuller plan that has a few period touches. We just got a new roof (hail damage) and now our hardiboard shingles (on two eaves and three dormers) need more contrast with the rest of the colors, especially with the roof. The bricks are a medium brown, and the trim and windows are white (and cannot be painted). I'm thinking something such as an earthy, not-too-bright green for the shingles. Or should we just stick with gray but go darker?
Any suggestions? I can't even decide whether a darker olive green or a lighter sage green would work better. And, the arches/columns are actually stucco, so we're considering painting them also. Would it get too busy to paint the arches a darker variation of whatever we go with on the shingles? Yes, the gutters are white, but the downspouts are chocolate brown.
Well, anyway, thanks in advance for any suggestions - specific paint colors are also welcome
Thank you!
