Starting an association?
Has anyone here ever started a society or association? My little city has a ton of gorgeous older homes, some of which are appreciated and some of which are not. Generally people understand the beauty of the old Victorians and Queen Anne's, but no one seems to appreciate the bungalows properly. I'd love to start some kind of group of bungalow owners to share information and resources and generally help promote the preservation and appreciation of the wonderful bungalow treasures in our town. Any ideas or suggestions about where to start?

I noticed you are in Wisconsin, where abouts? We are in Whitefish Bay, WI & I was wondering the same thing about starting a "bungalow society" or if there is something already set up.

Re: Starting an association?
I'm up in Chippewa Falls, but I've been to Whitefish Bay before. Our nearest metro area of any size is MPLS/St. Paul, but that's too far away to be of any help. They do have a very active bungalow society but it's impossible to get there with any regularity. Does the Milwaukee area have something going? Maybe you could just be a "chapter" of a larger organization? In the meantime, let me know if you learn anything.

Re: Starting an association?
I have not heard of a bungalow society in Milwaukee. I have been to a couple of lectures locally relating to historical bungalows (sponsored by two local historical societies). If anyone knows of anything, I'd be interested in participating. (I'm in Shorewood.)
