The old owners installed forced air in our bungalow. We are now faced with 2 15X30 plywood inserts in our original HW floors as cover ups. Does anyone one know a site or store we could get 2 grates this large? Or a place that could inexpensively make them?

A custom hardwood floor installer can usually fabricate grates that fit flush in the floor and they can be stained to match. 15x30 is a large size for a floor grate. That is unfortunate.

I did a Google search for "Decorative HVAC Grills" and several places came up.

not sure if you are refering to this type of wood grid...but this site has some you might be interested in - they refer to them as "eggcrate" http://www.coldairreturns.com
Also, most floor refinishing suppliers can sell grids - but I'm not sure about your size needs.
